Movie Theology

select Fridays, 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., Michaux House

Come see a movie with us this year!  Check out the great films we’ve picked out listed below and then mark your calendar to join fellow St. James’s parishioners for movie nights. Even if you’ve seen the movie before, it’s always interesting to view it with the perspective of “where’s God in this?” and share your observations with others. Want to dig a little deeper? Movie Theology veteran Mark Shuford recommends reading Reel Spirituality by Robert K. Johnston, to get a good insight on the influential role movies play in our culture and how Christians may approach popular movies with this in mind.

There’s always popcorn made – just bring your favorite beverage. Enter the Michaux House basement by the side stairway on Birch Street – movies are shown in the Youth Lounge on the right, just after you enter the building.  While it’s helpful for planning to RSVP whether or not you plan to attend to Anita Lisk, feel free to be spontaneous, too!

Contact Anita if you’d like to be on the Movie Theology “reminder” email distribution list.
