We are a lively community of faith striving to serve
God as “Doers of the Word and not hearers only.”
We hope you will find at St. James's a church
where God is present, where God's love is active,
and where God's Spirit is always calling us to
follow Christ. There is much to be thankful for in this
life and there is so much to be done. Come and join
with us as we share in the life of faith and work together
to be the body of Christ.

Beginning on Sunday, July 11, an online video of the service streaming live on our website replaces the weekly radio broadcasts. Parishioners unable to attend Sunday services CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE SERVICE at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays.
The church is looking for a team of 12 to 15 volunteers to run cameras and video monitors for these webcasts. The process will be simple and easy to learn and is a good opportunity for senior high youth and anyone interested in helping with this exciting new ministry. Please contact Randy Hollerith to volunteer.
Video webcasts will be archived on the new church website, which is being redesigned to offer more information in an easily navigable format. The new look is expected to be up and running soon.

The Revered Ann Dieterle will join St. James's this summer as the newest member of the clergy team.
Ann has served at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church in Toano, Virginia and most recently at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth, Illinois in the Diocese of Chicago. She was ordained to the priesthood in December, 2005 after graduating from Sewanee and attending Florida State University as an undergraduate. She was born in New York but moved to St. Petersburg, Florida as a child, where her parents and younger brother still live. She comes to St. James's with two "kids"- a dog named Bailey and a cat named Georgia.
Ann's first day at St. James's will be Monday, July 19. She takes over for The Reverend Bob Hetherington, who has generously taken a break from retirement to serve as Interim Associate Rector after the departure of The Reverend Dana Corsello last summer. Bob's last Sunday at St. James's will be on July 11, and Ann's first Sunday will be on July 25.
Read a letter from The Reverend Randy Hollerith about the new Associate Rector.
On four Sundays this summer, June 20, July 18 and 25, and August 1, brunch will be served at 11:15 a.m. in Valentine Hall. Professional chef Wes Holland, a St. James's parishioner and owner of Any Occasion Catering, will cater the buffet-style brunch. Check out the delicious menu now! Christian men throughout the generations have faced many challenges, such as the management of our aggressive and sensual drives. Other challenges are unique to modern times and present new temptations and distractions with the development of the internet and cellular communications. Despite that, the Bible contains truths about manhood that are timeless and applicable as we grow in our life roles as husbands, fathers, employees and leaders. These are some of the types of issues that will be explored through the study of scripture and the examples of the failures and triumphs of the men of the Bible.
