Christ’s love often is made known by one’s presence and kindness. CARITAS guests feel the embrace of our love and the warmth of our shelter. Would you like to join us for the upcoming CARITAS shelter week (February 21-28) when we invite parents and children to be part of our St. James’s family? Our guests arrive in the late afternoon and look forward to our home cooked dinners. Volunteers help to fill the evening hours with fun activities, helping with homework, assisting with showers, offering listening ears, leading Bingo, doing laundry, preparing bagged lunches, and cooking breakfast! There is something for everyone to do and our evening hours are filled with laughter and organized chaos! Come, be present, and share the good news of God’s love.
Sign-up isavailable in the Narthex and through sign-up Genius at http://bit.ly/2015CARITASweek. Please mark your calendar now!
Co-leaders Amanda Roberts (email@example.com) or Meg Stott (firstname.lastname@example.org), greatly need your help! A host of volunteer roles need to be filled including meal preparation (breakfast, dinner, and lunch), program activities like Bingo and board games, assistance with homework, help with laundry and showers, arts, and crafts, coordination of special offerings like physician, dentist, and barber/beautician, and most importantly, ministry of presence and offering of listening ears and loving hearts!
Hope you will join us for this amazing week of Servant Ministry right here in our Michaux House home!
