Daily Planet: donations and volunteers needed
Men’s and women’s clothing and hot and cold breakfast cereals for patients in the Medical Respite program.
The Daily Planet operates laundry and shower facilities. Washers and dryers are used all day, every day, and have to be replaced regularly due to the constant usage. Please consider monetary donations!
The Daily Planet’s Breaking Bread program involves volunteers who purchase, cook and serve meals for its Medical Respite or Safe Haven programs (21 individuals at each location). Breaking Bread is not just about feeding the body, it’s also about feeding the spirit through fellowship. It’s an excellent opportunity for families with children to volunteer!

PPDC After-School program at Fairfield Elementary School
In recent months, St. James’s has received a $100,000 two-year grant from the Jessie Ball DuPont Foundation to support an exciting partnership with Peter Paul Development Center in its efforts to begin a new after-school program. This grant allows PPDC to expand its services to an additional 50 students who will be selected as ones who demonstrate ability to reach their potential.
The program will begin October 22, 2012. Classes will be in session at Fairfield Court Elementary School, Monday through Thursday, 3:30-5:30pm. Part of our partnership commitment is to provide volunteers. Click here to select the volunteer position that best suits you.
