Family Service Project – Gleaning November 7

As part of our Families for Food outreach efforts, you and your children of all ages are invited to harvest crops Saturday morning, November 7 from 8:00-11:30 AM in the Northern Neck of VA (exact located TBD). We are partnering again with Harvest of Hope to glean the fields. If you are interested in participating, sign up online using this Gleaning Registration Form Gleaning is the act of collecting leftover crops from farmers’ fields after they have been commercially harvested or on fields where it is not economically profitable to harvest. It is a Christian practice described in multiple places in the Old Testament. Safety precautions and social distancing will be in effect during the entire event. You need to bring work gloves, plenty of water and snacks, and wear a face covering. At least one parent must accompany children and youth. Questions? Contact Drew Hartley at aahartley@verizon.net. Detailed instructions and farm address will be emailed to you after you register.
