A long tradition at St. James’s, the Giving Tree ministry provides church members an opportunity to provide gifts to children and senior citizens served by Peter Paul Development Center. In addition, it offers the opportunity for people to give financial gifts to our in-house emergency financial fund which helps us provide emergency assistance and counseling to those who are in financial crisis. Christmas trees with “wish lists” ornaments will be available in the hallway of the Michaux House during the Advent Fair and in the Narthex on Sunday, November 23; in the hallway of Michaux House and in the Narthex on Sundays, November 30 and December 7. As you select an ornament, please be sure to sign the gift list so that our ministry team members can be assured that each child or adult has been sponsored. Please return gifts to Michaux House by Sunday, December 14. Please note one change in tradition. Please bring children’s gifts UNWRAPPED. Parents will be given the opportunity to wrap their children’s gifts. This is an effort to help parents feel more engaged in their children’s Christmas celebrations. Senior citizen gifts should be wrapped. For questions or concerns, please contact lay leaders Ginny Hofheimer (firstname.lastname@example.org/304-4693)or Lauren Langley (email@example.com /337-1759).
