Going on retreats not only is a good spiritual practice as individuals, it also gives us as a group more time and space than we have on a Sunday morning to process together the practices we are learning and using.
To that end, we have planned a half-day retreat for Saturday, June 18, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Richmond Hill called, “Taking Your Next Spiritual Step: A Summer Short Retreat.” We will have time for worship and prayer, for silence and alone-time, for our final group reflection on our Rules of Life, and for instruction and discussion on practices each of us will intentionally take on during the summer. Richmond Hill is an ecumenical Christian religious community located in a former cloistered convent, so there will be opportunities for worship in their chapel, walks in their garden and labyrinth, and other lovely contemplative spaces.
Adults and youth aged 9th grade and up are welcome; no need to have attended our group meetings before. The cost to attend is $15/person for the retreat, including lunch.
This retreat is currently filled. Please email the Rev. Hilary Streever if you would like to be added to a wait list. Already registered? You can pay by clicking on the button or by mailing a check, payable to St. James’s Church (Memo line: June 18 Retreat).
