Interfaith Dialog with Beth Ahabah – Two Religious Traditions and a Future of Change
Wednesday, April 22 dinner at 6:00 p.m. in Valentine Hall; lectures at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, April 22 and 29 at Joel House, adjacent to our surface parking lot.
After the Easter season it is our tradition to invite our neighbors from Beth Ahabah for dinner and conversation. They were generous hosts to us 20 years ago in the midst of the fire and the reconstruction of the sanctuary. We want to hold on to those memories, those relationships. Each year since we have had two Wednesday night joint events. We will follow that tradition again this year. The theme this year will be reflection on the future of faith and the traditional organization of the church or synagogue. On Wednesday April 22, we will share dinner here at St. James’s in Michaux House at 6:00 p.m.. Dinner will be followed by a presentation at Joel House by Rabbi Beifield, who will offer the first reflection on the Jewish Tradition looking forward. The next week on Wednesday, April 29 we will gather at Joel House at 7:00 p.m. There will be no dinner that night. Our own Dr. Mark Cooper will present his study and thoughts about the future of the Christian faith and church. Please join us and support the continuation of this tradition and stimulating conversation.
