We are honored to host a concert in The Episcopal Arts Series again this year. The concert is by Magnificat, one of the world’s premiere vocal ensembles. Many of you will remember the fabulous concert by the Tallis Scholars that the Series brought to St. James’s in 2013. This event promises to be equally wonderful. Philip Cave, the director of Magnificat, was a founding member of the Tallis Scholars and the other singers have been members of famous ensembles such as The Sixteen, Anonymous 4 and The King’s Singers. Magnificat’s recording of Thomas Tallis’ forty-part motet Spem in alium was hailed as “quite the best recording” by Gramophone Magazine. The disc was recently selected as the BBC Radio 3 recommended performance of Tallis’ Lamentations of Jeremiah. This will be a concert that you don’t want to miss.
Advance tickets are available at www.thediocese.net.
