Memorial Concert

The Truest Way to Celebrate the Day.

Memorial Day is so much more than the unofficial kick off to Summer or another three day weekend. It’s the day we have chosen to remember our fallen soldiers. At St. James’s, we’re celebrating this day of remembrance in a most profound way–with music and words that honor those who have died and those who have served.

It starts at 7 pm on Memorial Day, so you can make it back from your long weekend in time to attend.

At the center of our service is John Rutter’s moving and personal Mass of the Children. But the service will also include America the Beautiful, God of our Fathers, and Taps to honor those who have died.

Our Children’s Choirs as well as other St. James’s Choirs will bring an extra level of beauty and pathos to the already moving music. The performance will also include members of the Richmond Symphony.

As is our custom, names of veterans past and present will be printed in the program–and each veteran in attendance receives a rose. You can add a name by emailing  [email protected]
