Holy Land Pilgrimage: Interest Meeting

Join the Rev. Dr. Mark Cooper Monday, March 25, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Valentine Hall if you are interested in going on pilgrimage to the Holy Land February 2020. Contact: markcooper1966@gmail.com or 703-980-0130.

A tour of the Holy Land, a journey through the sites where our faith began is referred to as the “the Fifth Gospel” by James Martin, SJ in his book Jesus, A Pilgrimage.  The size of the 2020 group will be limited. Toward the end of 2019, the group will meet weekly to discuss Martin’s book as preparation. Pilgrims who participated in the February 2019 trip are encouraged to attend the discussions.

Pilgrims who participate will read the Bible with new eyes for the rest of their lives.

Mark is working on some hiking and other adventures, as well as continuing the format of reflection and meditation that he has used in his other pilgrimage journeys, such as the Portuguese Camino this past spring. The pilgrimage is open to interested people outside the St. James’ community. If you have questions or want to sign up, contact Mark directly at: markcooper1966@gmail.com.
