Reason #6 Outreach ROCKS at St. James’s

The band Oak Lane, made up largely of St. James’s parishioners, has been the house band for the Red Cross Garden Party at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center’s Community Living Center for four years, enough to earn the Red Cross Good Neighbor Award, presented at this year’s party on May 14 (held indoors due to weather). This ministry enlivens the veterans living in this long term care section of the hospital, who enjoy barbeque and all the fixin’s as the band entertains them.
