Following approved guidance from the Diocese and Bishop Goff… See you Sunday, September 13th

Before leaving home

  • For your planning: the Governor’s order defines households as related people living in the same residence – extended families must observe social distancing at the service
  • Take your temperature(s) – if anyone in your party is running a fever, please stay home and enjoy the streamed 11:00 A.M. service
  • Gather your Personal Protective Equipment
    • You must wear a mask throughout your full time at Rock Bottom
  • Locate Rock Bottom using Google Maps on your device 
    • 5995 River Road, Richmond, Va 23226
      • At the intersection of River Road and Huguenot Road – check out the satellite view
  • Allow time for finding Rock Bottom, parking, queuing, checking in, and being seated

Arriving at Rock Bottom

  • Look for balloons and St. James’s signs at the entrance
  • Follow the signs
  • An usher will direct parking once you reach the site 

When approaching the area

  • Masks are required 
  • Ushers will escort attendees to the entrance line
  • Please observe at least 6 feet while queuing in line for check-in
  • When called forward to the check-in table one of our ushers will: 
    • Temperature check: if 100.4 F or higher denied entry 
      • What to do if you’re sick: Return to car route maintaining distance 
  • Your attendance is recorded via check-in through Eventbrite, this is for Contact Tracing 
  • You will then be called forward to the second table that has bulletin, sanitizer, and gloves 
  • At the third and last table we will have boxed water for you

Under the tent

  • At the Offering basket at the tent entrance, you will meet an usher who will show your party, maintaining distance, to your seats
  • Seating will be from front to back to maintain safe spacing
  • Ushers will release congregants from seats for orderly, distanced exit from the service 
  • Touchless recycling and trash receptacles at tent entrance and exit 
  • An area will be provided to the left of the entrance for those wishing to bring their own camp chairs and blankets

Comfort considerations

  • Limited bottled water available 
  • Limited Portable Restrooms available near tent 
    • Ushers will escort anyone needing to visit one of the portable restroom units 
  • You must observe at least 6 feet while queuing

The Service 

  • Morning Prayer, Rite II
  • Live music
  • No congregational singing
  • No choir
  • Fairly short service
  • Please remain seated until released by usher

After the service

  • Go directly to your vehicle, after being released by an usher
  • An usher will direct exiting traffic 
  • Follow all signage directing flow for exit 

Rain Plan

  • We’ll keep an eye on the weather – if Sunday looks bad we have a plan 
    • We may switch to Saturday

Protocol for tracing, communicating and per exposure/contraction

  • If you or anyone in your household develops COVID-19 symptoms within 21 days of this service. Contact the Church office ASAP and St. James’s must follow all protocols. This is to follow Contact Tracing.
