We will feature at the Sunday Forum a discussion of a rapid transit system for greater Richmond that would connect job-seekers with employers and county residents with downtown attractions, having a positive impact on our region’s economy. Our environment would also be positively impacted by reducing the number of cars on our roads.
On September 22, we will hold “RVA Rapid Transit: Where Are We & Where We Are Going?” Speakers and members of our Advocacy Team will discuss steps for involvement and action. September 15’s presentation was “RVA Rapid Transit: Where Are We Going and How Can We Get There?” Richard Rumble of Richmond Hill explained the mission of this public transportation ministry and how area congregations and public policy groups are involved.
If you are one of our parishioners who would you like to see more effective public transportation come to Metropolitan Richmond, you will be interested and we have a way for you to be involved. In the coming months, there will be several opportunities to assist with this important effort, and so we have formed the RVA Rapid Transit Advocacy Team at St. James’s. If you are interested in getting involved, contact the Rev. Carmen Germino, firstname.lastname@example.org.
