Christmas Giving Tree Ministry

Christmas Giving Tree

The Christmas Giving Tree Kicks off in Valentine Hall on November 24 and continues in the Narthex and in Michaux House hallway the following Sunday, December 1. Plan to return your gifts to Valentine Hall the morning of Sunday, December 8. Please return children’s gifts unwrapped so that PPDC parents may wrap gifts for their children. Gifts for adults can be wrapped before you bring them. Gifts should be returned to the parish house at 1205 West Franklin during the week and to Valentine Hall on Sunday mornings. A long tradition at St. James’s, the Giving Tree ministry offers church members an opportunity to provide gifts to children and senior citizens served by Peter Paul Development Center and/or to provide monetary gifts to Nancy Warman’s in-house emergency outreach fund to assist families in crisis and in need of housing stability. Wish list ornaments with instructions are available in the Narthex and in Michaux House hallway. Be sure to check out your wish list with the volunteer who is present. Please make every effort to return your gifts to Michaux House by the morning of Sunday, December 8, so that volunteers have sufficient time to organize all family packages. If you can assist the Giving Tree Doer team, or if you have questions, please contact lay co-leaders Katie Morris, 804-615-2161 and Susan Sumrell, (703) 773-7437.
