Whether you’re just starting your faith journey, a lifelong Episcopalian seeking a community of believers, or a family looking for your church home, we’re glad to welcome you and want to help you learn more about St. James’s Episcopal Church.
Every day we strive for our lovely urban church to be a holy space where all of God’s children belong; we strive to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and one another, while partnering with God in God’s work of reconciliation in our neighborhood, our city, and our world.
Located in Richmond’s historic Fan District, we are a community drawn together by our love of God and our desire to serve Jesus Christ in the world. We pray together, serve together, learn, laugh, and sing together. We try to honor the words of our patron saint, James, to be authentic doers of God’s Word and not merely hearers (James 1:22). And we work to share God’s love with a world in pain and trying to find healing and wholeness.
So bring your vulnerabilities, your pain, your faith, and your hopes. All are welcome here.
