EFM Summer 2020

ARE YOU SENSING A CALL . . . to learn more about our Christian tradition . . . to deepen your faith and your commitment to serve others?  Come learn more at a ZOOM online info session on Tuesday, July 21 at 2 pm.

EfM will help to increase your knowledge of scripture, church tradition, and theology as well as grow your faith and preparation for lay ministry.  We meet weekly to discuss scripture and other readings, worship together and share theological reflections.  Our trained mentor guides the group, and participants learn how to look at life and ministry through a theological lens. Our St. James’s EfM group is enrolling new participants for 2020/21.  We will meet for 36 weeks on Tuesdays, 6:15 to 8:15 pm, beginning on September 16, at Westminster Canterbury Community, just a few miles north of St. James’s Church, or by ZOOM if virus restrictions are still in place.  While most of our group participants are from St. James’s, we welcome individuals from all denominations and faith traditions.  To sign up for the ZOOM info session on July 21, and for more information, contact EfM mentor Jane Dowrick at [email protected] or 804-334-0117.  Information about the history, ratrionale and curriculum of EfM is also available at the Education for Ministry website at http://efm.sewanee.edu/about-efm/about-efm
