June 18 – 22, 2018
EARN UP TO 20 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE!
St. James’s is looking for youth to volunteer at Vacation Bible School 2018. Youth can serve as shepherds for a small group or help with various activities like Games, Crafts, Story, Music, and Drama. The little kids love having “big kids” with them during VBS so we’d like to get youth involved in these roles.
Here’s more information about this opportunity:
1) VBS is June 18 – 22, 2018 at St. James’s (1133 West Franklin Street). Youth volunteers must be present from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.
2) You need to attend one of the Volunteer Training Sessions. If you can’t attend either session you need to email Becky Page (email@example.com) to discuss other arrangements.
• Sunday, June 10th 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Michaux House)
• Wednesday, June 13th 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Michaux House)
3) Job Descriptions:
Shepherd: You will work with a group of 6 to 8 mixed-age students (either elementary or preschool). You’ll meet them when they first arrive in the morning and will be responsible for staying with them and looking after them until dismissal. You will lead them to different activity stations each day.
Activity Leader- Music, Crafts, Games, Story, or Drama: You will work with a small group of children to lead the activity which will change each day with the VBS program.
